How to Make Tres Leches Cake

The Ingredients. – To make the cake, you’re going to need a box of white cake mix, four large eggs, and one-and-a-quarter cup of water. To make the tres leches, you’re going to need a cup of heavy cream, 12-ounces of evaporated milk, 14-ounces of sweetened condensed milk, and some whipped cream that you can top it off with.

Making the Cake. – First things first, you’re going to want to preheat the oven to about 350 degrees. While it’s warming up, grease a regular cake pan with non-stick cooking spray. Then, take the eggs and beat them in a large bowl. Once that’s going, add the water and your cake mix, and continue beating it for three more minutes. Then, take the batter and pour it into the pan. Bake the cake for about half an hour, or until it’s done. Then, let it cool to room temperature.

Finishing It Off. – Now, take the cup of heavy cream, the 12-ounces of evaporated milk, and the 14-ounces of sweetened condensed milk, and mix those together. Take a chopstick or something similar, and poke a punch of holes in the cake. Don’t be skimpy either, because you’re going to then take the milks, and pour it over the cake slowly until it’s absorbed half the liquid. Then, put the cake in the fridge, and let it set until you’re ready to serve.

Once you’re ready to serve the cake, you can put whipped cream, and some fruit on top of it, if you so desire. You could also drizzle more heavy cream over it, or even make a fruity compote to top it with. It’s up to you!
