When It Comes to Candy, Americans Have a Serious Sweet Tooth

A lot of fuss gets made over Halloween and all the candy that comes along with that holiday, but that’s just a drop in the bucket when it comes to Americans’ obsession with candy. Whether it’s tootsie roll candies, lollipops, candy bars or just plain old pieces of chocolate, the average American eats about 25 pounds of candy a year. That’s a little over 2 pounds per month, and it’s a serious sweet tooth. Here are some interesting things to know about candy use and consumption in the U.S.
